IVY MI KINDERGARTEN “Green” School-based Curriculum Wins Awards By Ivy MI Kindergarten Eco-city Campus (Tianjin) C hina has made significant achievements in becoming an ecological country in recent years. In response to the advocacy of ecological education by the UNESCO, schools have become pilot zones for ecological education, and also where the research of eco-courses take place. study, many teachers contributed to the campus-level paper. In the evaluation of eco-educational courses, a total of three teachers from Ivy Education Group won prizes. With mandates from both the central government and the local administration, Ivy MI Kindergarten Eco-city Campus (Tianjin) has begun studying natural ecology as per its development plan for a school-based eco- curriculum. We ensure it also connects with the Multiple Intelligences theory and connects with concrete conditions of the campus. We launched a study on the sub-topic of “Close to Nature, Care for Green” in April 2017. The curriculum aimed to cultivate children’s interest in contacting with nature and exploring the evolution of animals, plants and its basic conditions. It also aimed to impart the knowledge about the impact of weather and seasonal changes on animals, plants and people, as well as the preliminary understanding and experience of the relationship between animals, plants and people’s lives. Children are expected to obtain the ability to discover, feel and create beauty in nature, and to love and protect nature and the environment.
