The Contribution of Local Arts Scene to Youthful Tamil
காலத்துக்கும் சூழலுக்கும் ஏற்றவாறு தன்னைப் புதுப்பித்துக்கொள்ளும்
ம�ொழியே வாழும் ம�ொழியாகத் திகழ்கிறது. அவ்வகையில் நம் சிங்கப்பூர்
தமிழ்மொழியும் காலத்திற்கேற்ப பல மாற்றங்கள் கண்டு இன்று இளமை
ததும்பும் செம்மொழியாகப் பிரகாசிக்கிறது.

நம் தாய்மொழி இத்தகைய நிலையை அடைய பக்கபலமாக
இருந்ததும் இருப்பதும் நம் இளைய தலைமுறையே. இளையர்களே ஒவ்வொரு
காலக்கட்டத்தின் புதுமைகளை அறிந்து அவற்றை ம�ொழி, கலாசாரம் என
சமுதாயத்தின் வெவ்வேறு அம்சங்களில் வெளிப்படுத்தும் ஆற்றல் பெற்றவர்கள்.
குறிப்பாக, இப்புதுமைகளை நம் துடிப்புமிக்க உள்ளூர் கலையுலகில்
வெளிப்படுத்தி தமிழ்மொழியை என்றும் இளமையுடன் கட்டிக்காக்கின்றனர்
நம் இளையர்கள்.
இன்று,
"சங்கே
முழங்கு",
"உத்ரா"
என
எத்தனைய�ோ
கலைநிகழ்ச்சிகளை இளையர்களே ஏற்பாடு செய்து ம�ொழியை அறுசுவை
விருந்தாக பிற இளையர்களுக்குப் பரிமாறுவதைக் காண்கிற�ோம். பற்பல
நாடகக் குழுக்களும் இளையர்களின் ஆதரவ�ோடு உரு பெற்று, முத்தமிழில்
ஒன்றான நாடகத் தமிழுக்குப் பெருமை சேர்ப்பதைக் காண்கிற�ோம்.
ஆனால் அதே சமயம், இளையர்கள் ஆங்கிலம் கலந்த தமிழில்
பேசி தமிழ்மொழியின் தாழ்ச்சிக்கு வித்திடுவதாகவும் சில குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை
அவ்வப்போது கேட்கிற�ோம்.
Singapore having experienced a steady growth in fields of
governance, economy and technology has recently shifted
its focus to place a greater emphasis on social aspects such
as arts and culture. With a noble intention of ensuring
that our nation achieves an all-rounded growth at the
societal level, government organisations and self-interest
groups have been contributing greatly to the realm of
arts. With their help, our local arts scene has seen several
changes and reforms, and serves as an example of the
vibrancy of today’s Singapore. It is essential for a language
to evolve with changing times and environment in order
for it to survive. Similarly, such evolution is crucial for the
appreciation of the Arts as well. Hence, when Tamil art
forms achieve growth, the Tamil language naturally grows
as well. There is thus ground to say that it is our arts scene
which has maintained the youthfulness of our mother
tongue. Having captivated the youth by its entertainment
factor, it is doubtless that the arts will bring Tamil language
to greater heights with the everlasting support of youth.
