► Initiated the first Bird Festival – a celebration of birds and other wildlife
uniting 5 village schools in Dsegh IBA, Lori Marz and 10 village schools
in Lake Arpi IBA, Shirak Marz.

► Established the first (in Armenia and the Caucasus) artificial breeding
tower and 48 nest boxes for globally threatened Lesser Kestrel.

► Spearheaded the National Avian Influenza Surveillance expert team

working with the RA Ministry of Agriculture, UNDP, the World Bank
and the Food and Agricultural Organization.

► Established 8 local Support Groups and Caretaker Network to monitor,
manage and protect Important Bird Areas.

► Developed 3 Regional Species Action Plans for globally threatened

Lesser Kestrel, Imperial Eagle and Waterbirds for the Southern
Caucasus; 5 local Site Action Plans and 1 Site Management Plan (Gorayk
IBA).

► Provided the 1st review of the conservation status of all Armenian birds for Birds in Europe II book of BirdLife
International.
