Afghanistan: from 2002 to 2016, the German Armed Forces used the facilities of the city of
Termez to carry out their mission in the Afghanistan.
- economic dimension - attracting German investments in improving the business
climate, developing tourism, supporting farms and entrepreneurs, introducing modern
technologies into production, using renewable energy sources, improving the water supply
system, infrastructure, etc.;
- political and social dimension - strengthening democratic institutions; improving public
administration, the judicial and legal system; ensuring security; improving the health care
system; developing education; conducting joint scientific researches, etc.
In the view of the above, I would like to ask dear participants of the round table to take
the most active part in the work of this event openly discuss the agenda and thereby contribute
to the development of qualitatively new ideas and proposals.
Let me once again cordially welcome our guests from Germany, representatives of
official, parliamentary, scientific, expert and public circles of Uzbekistan, as well as the
diplomatic corps accredited in our country, and wish to all participants of the round table
meaningful and fruitful discussions.
