the mutual trade turnover, a large proportion of total percentage is attributable to the export of
German goods to Uzbekistan, while the export of Uzbek products to Germany has only a small
share.
I think we need to make efforts to ensure that Uzbek products are also represented in
Germany in a wider volume and range. For this purpose, Uzbekistan has significant potential,
for example, in the field of agriculture. Our task here is to work out the issues of quality control
and certification of our products according to the European Union standards. We are currently
making serious efforts in this direction.
The second direction is the sustainable development of the economic sphere in the
regions of Uzbekistan, attraction of German investments and technologies, assistance to small
and medium-sized enterprises, construction of complexes for growing and deep processing of
agricultural products, storage, packaging and export of food products, creation of modern joint
ventures.
The third area is close cooperation on education and training, health and tourism.
The most attractive areas for German investment can also be — ecology, petrochemical
industry, automotive industry and a number of others.
The strengthening of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries also
occupies an important place in the formation of friendly relations between the two countries.
Today, inter-parliamentary relations, as an important factor in international relations, have a
significant impact on the formation of state policy and the strengthening of inter-state
relations. In this regard, the exchange of visits of parliamentarians of the two countries should
be further developed. In particular, it is necessary on a regular basis, at least once a year, to
organize visits to Uzbekistan of representatives of the parliamentary friendship group of the
Bundestag with the countries of Central Asia.
