Opening statement of OSCE Project Co-ordinator in
Uzbekistan, Ambassador John MacGregor
Honorable Mr. Ambassador Norov,
Mr. Minister Annen,
Ms. Kiefer,
Mr. Akhatov,
Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends,
Assalomu Alaykum!
I welcome to this roundtable. I am very pleased to say a few words on behalf of the
Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
You may ask why the OSCE is applauding this event. This is a very important topic.
Today’s event is important because it offers a platorm for dialogue on co-operation for the
future of Uzbekisan. There cannot be any topic more important than the future of a nation.
Today’s event will contribute greatly to the future of Uzbekistan.
We must listen carefully. We must keep
an ‘open mind’. We must carefully consider all
ideas. Many of the priorities of Uzbekistan’s
Strategy Action 2017 – 2021 relate to this
sphere. Most of the priorities of the Strategy are
related to OSCE Commitments. There are a
number of OSCE commitments related to this
sphere.
Dear forum participants,
Dear friends,
I am honoured to be among you today, to discuss this important topic. The leadership of
Uzbekistan in promoting and sharing its best practices is an excellent example for other OSCE
participating States. I offer my congratulations to the Institute for Strategic and Regional
Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and to the ‘Fredrich-Ebert’
Foundation. The OSCE PCUz looks forward to continue cooperation and partnership.
Ladies and gentlemen, I wish you good luck with this event.
Thank you very much for your attention!
