Beyond the rules
On September 16, 2018 the students
from the faculty of foreign languages went to
Muraviovka Park to work with children and
teach them different techniques. For
example, the so-called “Right-brained
drawing technique” was presented as one of
the master classes for the first time. This
technique allows to reveal a child's creativity
and takes his individual features into account.
The main purpose of the master class was to
develop figurative and abstract thinking
among children. Everyone, regardless of his
drawing skills or age, was given an opportunity
to try himself in creating his own picture with
the help of bright acrylic dyes, watercolors,
brushes and water. The children drew only
according to their own imagination, thoughts

participants were asked to think over the role
of a selected color and its characteristics and
meaning personally for each of them. The main
subject which most of the children had chosen
for their drawings was nature. During their
work they were discussing a lot of things, such
as the importance of maintaining natural
resources or the ways of multiplying them.
Using lots of colors and mixing patterns all the
participants managed not only to prove
themselves and their talents, but also to get
some kind of cathartic experience because
this technique also has a positive
psychological effect in addition to its main
purpose.
