INTERVIEW
Creative People, Unite!
Great! Do you remember your first
poem?
I wonder if there was an image of what
the club had to look like.
Viktoriya: Frankly speaking, there
wasn’t. Everything arose in the course of

I think that it would be great to win a grant.
Yaroslav: A grant requires accounting.
If we get officially registered, we can attract a
sponsor and then our poetic life will play out in
fresh colors.

Viktoriya: Of course! It is a part of the
cultural life! Poetry is speaking about timeless
things. It teaches to think, feel, and
understand yourself and others better.
Viktoriya: I don’t remember my first
one but I remember that in the year of dragon I
wrote a poem about it for a local poetry
competition. My literature teacher
recommended me to take part in it. I won and
had a publication in a local newspaper. Since
then, I have always been participating in
something. (laughing) At first, I even disliked it
because I did not realize the value of my
creativity. But later I got used to it. I rather
write for my own pleasure and for a good
company than for publicity. I don’t write about
myself, those are usually other people’s
stories.
Yaroslav: For me it is vice versa. I mainly
write about myself but topics are different.
According to records, I have been writing since
2011. Of course, there had been some poems
before that but they have not been

Viktoriya: Songs are easier to write
than poems. If I had music education, I would
write only songs.
Yaroslav: That’s what I feel, too. At
school I performed recitative with a friend of
mine at festivals and competitions.
Friends, have you ever noticed that a
sad poem is easier to write? As for me, my
verses always turn out to be dismal although I
am an optimistic person.
Yaroslav: That’s what I face all the
time! I don’t have a single cheerful poem. My
That’s true! And how often do you
write?
Victoriya: I have been writing since my
school years and I don’t have any favorite
topics. As a rule, I run across subject matters
spontaneously. In fact, I used to write songs
even more often. When I was a child, I had a
friend who lived a floor below in the same
house. She sang in a choir and played the
