TRAVELING A Journey to the Dominican Republic morning, the one who lost the game goes to search for an occasional accessory job, and delegates the duties in the evening to the next card game loser. All the tourism infrastructure is owned by foreign companies from Spain, France, Italy, and the USA. The Dominicans are only the service personnel in these comfortable hotels. I visited the capital of the DR, Santo Domingo, during an excursion to that city. Here there is the main tourist attraction of the DR, the Columbus Lighthouse (Cross). It's an architectural monument constructed as a tribute to the 500 t h anniversary of the Discovery of America by Columbus. This magnificent building looks like a pyramid or a ship from the side, and like a cross from above. The night illumination installed inside the building draws a cross on the sky at night. This is why the building is called a lighthouse. Inside it, there is the marble mausoleum with a part of Christopher Columbus's remains. The other part is in Spain. There is also a small museum with quotes from famous travelers inscribed on the walls. It was an informative excursion to Santo Domingo! The DR's shores are washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. You can feel the force and power of the sea element on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The Caribbean Sea is one of the most beautiful seas on our planet. It is very warm, and has a tender blue color. The entire coast of the DR is a snow-white picturesque beach. In the territory of the Punta Cana district there is the most well-known beach, Bavaro. Here there are the best hotels and coral reefs. It's a great place to go diving. The marine reserves allow for swimming with dolphins. During such a swim, two dolphins pushed me out of water, throwing me high. It was great fun! And when you fly in a helicopter over the sea and the Bavaro beach, first it takes your breath away. But then you can't take your eyes off the turquoise sea disappearing beyond the horizon. I also visited the Saona island, which is a part of the DR. It is in the Caribbean Sea where there are big red sea stars. They must not be taken out of the water and exposed to air in any case. They are huge and very beautiful! The nature and the beach of the Saona island are magnificent. This is the reason why it has been visited by many global celebrities. The wedding of Michael Jackson and Lisa Presley took place here. This is where the Blue Lagoon movie, one of the episodes of the Jurassic Park, and the advertising clip of the Bounty chocolate bar were filmed. November 2018 №1 Of course this isn't all that the DR can offer to a traveler. Sea fishing, surfboarding, excursions to waterfalls, and many other kinds of entertainments are available here. It was on these shores that the famous rhumba dance has emerged. So there is such music played everywhere. It creates a special festive atmosphere!!! I liked the trip to the DR very much. The sunshine, the sea, the beach, the rousing rhythms, juicy fruits, the charm of a far-off land – these are the landmarks of this corner of paradise! I'd like to remember Agatha Christie's words, “Life on a journey is a pure dream.” So, feel free to dream and travel! SUNRISE 38
