Travel Broadens the Mind
went to for three weeks was not far away
either. I went to Kings school where all lessons
passed in one breath. On my first day at
school we had an entry exam to determine our
level of knowledge. Then we were distributed
into groups depending on the level. We had
classes from 8 till 12 and each lesson included
speaking, grammar and writing. At the end of
each week everybody had another test to
have the acquired knowledge checked. And
students who passed the exam almost
perfectly were transferred to the next level.
Thus, I reached the upper intermediate level.
As for the British people, it should be
noted that they are careful and reserved.

expressing any displeasure. They are always
ready to show you the way because streets in
London are very wide and noisy and it is easy to
get lost there.
After classes all students had leisure
time. With Sarah, the girl who lived in the host
family with me, and my fellow traveler we went
sightseeing. The first place we visited was
London Bridge. It is a long embankment with a
good view of London Eye, Tate Modern Gallery
and the National Theatre. Moreover, we even
managed to take a spin on the famous
observation wheel! It lasted for 30 minutes
which flew by. We had a bird's eye view of Big
Ben, the Houses of Parliament and other
attractions. Certainly, the observation wheel
in Blagoveschensk cannot be compared with
it!
Of course, we also visited Madam
Tussaud's museum, Greenwich, Brighton, and
Cambridge but what stuck in my memory most
of all was Harry Potter Museum. It took us long
time to get there and the museum itself was
incredibly large. An interesting thing is that all
exhibits were utilized in the movies. And it was
just fantastic to feel the atmosphere of
magic! Besides, the museum was interactive. It
was allowed to touch some of the exhibits.
Touching the history of Harry Potter creation
was amazing and I could talk about it for hours!
I n c o n c l u s i o n , I wo u l d l i ke to
recommend you, dear readers, to visit as
many new places as you can because the
world is a book and those who don't travel
read only a page of it.
