TRAVELING Woke up in London Yesterday… Lo n d o n r e s i d e n c e a n d a d m i n i s t r a t i ve headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom. It's an amazing feeling to be there, it's like you are touching history, as it reminds you of all the historical moments, that you've seen on TV, which took a place right there. Standing in front of Buckingham Palace, you can see the London Eye as well. My trip to London was pretty short, so I wasn't lucky enough to visit everything, but one of the “must see” places is definitely Tower Bridge. I fell in love with the view of this bridge. It looks amazing in daylight and at night. No wonder it became an iconic London's attraction. Tower Bridge is very often confused with London Bridge – they are 2 different bridges. Always remember about it. If you are in London for shopping, Piccadilly Circus is a perfect place for you. It's a road junction and public space of London's West End in the City of Westminster. In this area you will find lots of stores, restaurants and pubs. In its neighborhood is Chinatown – a bit of China in London. This place is also worth visiting, especially if you are a fan of Chinese food and culture. I wouldn't be myself, if I didn`t mention another famous place in London – Abbey Road. Music fans know what I'm talking about. It's not only a street in London, it's also a title of the studio album by a legendary British band the Beatles and a name of the recording studio. If you are near, don't be surprised if you meet a famous musician. It is very likely. When you are in London, you just have to visit a London pub. They are usually open till 19 SUNRISE 23:00. I was in karaoke pub. It was such a fun! You have a chance to meet Londoners in their free time, talk to them and have a great time together. All this in a comfortable and nice atmosphere. Totally recommended. The last place I would like to mention is Wembley Arena, next to the famous Wembley Stadium. This venue is used for various events, mostly music ones. I got there by a modern version of an iconic red double decker bus and it was fun, until I got to know what London's traffic jam means. Just remember – if you have to be somewhere on time, go by the Tube, not a bus! You probably wonder where I lived. That's a good question. I have a really good friend, who had moved to London some time ago and she had kept inviting me over and over again, but I didn't have time, I thought it's too far away and I was always finding an excuse not to go there. That's a mistake that people these days are doing all the time. Tell yourself that you only live once, so why not? We live in times, when everything is really cheap – flights, hotels – everything, so why we can't use it? It's for us! I was really surprised, when I was booking flights, as I didn't pay much. Moreover my friend had invited me and I didn't have to pay for a lodging. But if I hadn't been invited, I'm sure I would have found a cheap option, like I did when I went to Vienna. But it's a different story. November 2018 №1
