The most common visit to the dentist is to address the problem of a
troubling cavity. Everyone wants a toothache to go as soon as possi-
ble before the more damage is done. But beyond the health-based con-
cerns for one‘s teeth, the appearance of the fillings is of great concern to
many patients. Luckily, long gone are times when the only dental fill-
ing was an amalgam, not only hazardous to people but also the environ-
ment. From July 2018, it is forbidden to use amalgam fillings for children,
pregnant and breastfeeding women, in the Czech Republic. Subsequent-
ly, from January 2019 these fillings are going to be excluded altogether.
