Season of Beauty / body
We are so preoccupied by a young face and a slim figure we
tend to ignore other body parts which do not hold such obvious
importance for us but are important nonetheless. The best example
of such body parts are hands. They suffer from rapid changes of
temperature, unwanted effects of sunlight, hormonal fluctuations,
stress and they also age. While even the smallest wrinkle on our
faces can bring us nightmares, hands tend to age unnoticed. Our
neglect of proper hand care seems even more unfair once we
realize how essential hands are in the life of a human being and
what miraculous things they do for us. For example, did you know
that just by touching someone you can lessen their pain?
This is neither a touchy-feely story nor
a fairytale, this is a scientific fact. Research
done at the University of Miami in the US
has revealed that the human touch has
wide-ranging physical and emotional benefits for people of all age groups. It was
discovered that touch is not just pleasant
but that it is immensely important, too.
The research showed touch lessened pain,
improved pulmonary function, lowered
blood glucose and improved immune
function. It even increased growth in infants, which suggests that the more you
touch your little one, the better they grow
and the healthier they are.
It does not even matter that the
frequency of touching decreases during
our life – teenagers receive only half as
much touching as they did in their early
childhood and adults touch each other
even less – the positive effects of touch
on our body and psyche remains. It also
works subconsciously. In 1976 there was a
research done through a very subtle gesture yet brought obvious results. Clerks at a
university library were returning library
cards to students either with or without
briefly touching their hands. Student interviews later revealed that those who
had been touched evaluated the clerk and
their experience with them significantly
more favourably than those who had not
been touched. The effect held even when
students had not noticed they had been
touched.
Isn’t this a solid explanation on how
your hands are important for you? How
Did you know…
> … that you can treat your neck and
décolleté the same way as your hands?
Really! The skin problems in all of these
areas are very similar and they all get
ignored by us very often. So hydrate
and rejuvenate! Because you don’t
notice your neck or décolleté doesn’t
mean others do.

about not neglecting them anymore then?
How to Take Care of Our
Hands?
We already stated that hand suffer from
various inner and outer conditions. Yet how
does this show? Mostly through the appearance of unwanted pigmentation and wrinkles. However, all of this begins with a simple
problem – dry skin. Why is it so crucial to
hydrate our hands, you may have asked several times in your life? Well, the explanation
is quite simple, for everything in our bodies
originates from water. Dehydrated skin loses its elasticity, fades and becomes wrinkly
and rough to touch – this transformation
also makes vessels under the skin easily visible. None of the easily obtained nurturing
creams help at this point and you have to
expand your search for a remedy and visit
a doctor. Don’t be alarmed, it does not mean that there is something wrong with you,
not just sick people visit doctors nowadays.
Aesthetic specialists work with people who
are perfectly healthy, they just wish to look
better and there is nothing to be ashamed
of. If your drug store creams don’t work, try
medical cosmetics – it’s more effective, and
specialized to help you with your particular
problem and easily obtained from your physician.
If the creams don’t do you justice, the problem might be with the permeability of your
skin – also th
