1) “We keep asking questions that will remind him that we are waiting for the action we requested from him that he said they would deliver on” - Bertha

2) “The job of the government is to make sure that everyone is happy. You cannot stay in a community in conditions you are not happy with. It is not fair for us without disabilities to live happily whilst our friends with disabilities live unhappily in the same community. When the needs to those with disabilities are not met, we should follow up with the government. We need to ask ‘Why?!” We are all people, we have the same rights and privileges. Their need for education is just as important as the need of those without disabilities. They could have the talents and skills we need to change the world” - Daliso

Social accountability knows no age. Anyone can ask the right questions to the right people and bring the change needed in their community.

Gordon Daka headmaster of Family Future Primary school said, “The Quest project was very beneficial to our school. The children are empowered to know how policies are made in the country and how they can influence policy makers.” He later added on that the students in the project have had a visible burst of confidence and that every student in the Quest councils has improved their grades which he believes can be attributed to participating in the Council.

The Quest project by Barefeet Theatre is funded by the European Union with capacity development support from the Zambian Governance Foundation.
