By Juan María Llano, Margarita Molina, Sofía Jaramillo, Jaroslav Vlasak Birds, the animals that rule the sky, are outstanding for their giant variety of different adaptations and unique species and features. That is the reason why birds interest us, and that is the reason we did this project. This project is important to us because it will help us Question: Do birds prefer sunflower or sesame seeds? Hypothesis: If sesame seeds are native in Colombia while sunflower seeds are from other parts of the world, then sesame seeds will be eaten more because they are known to the birds of this region. Experiment Design and Procedure 1. We build our bird feeder 2. We divided the house in two to have one type of food in one side and the other one in the other understand birds and their preference of food to be able to give them the food they prefer so that birds can be happier when the life as pet. We will use sesame and sunflower seeds. There are two types of seeds that are eatable by both human and other different species of not only birds but other kinds of animals. We are going to work on this variable because it is interesting to know what types of flavors, texture and taste do birds prefer the most, after we do all of this we are going to show you what birds prefer between two different seed; sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. We filled the house with food for the birds, measuring the total amount of food we put in millimeters 5. We came each other day to check results, looking at how much food is left We will do our experiment by making a bird feeder divided into two, in one side we will put one type of food and in the other one we will put the other kind of food. We will put the house where we will do the experiment.
