SHE LEADS HIGH PROGRAM The SHE Leads High program is designed to support young women in years 10-12 to build confidence and leadership skills. When asked about the most valuable thing they took from the program, participants shared; ‘That you can make a difference’ ‘Raising awareness about gender equality’ ‘How to work together in a team and how to be confident in everything I do’ ‘I learnt that it is important to stand up for what you believe in and not to let anyone bring you down’ ‘The various ways to express my opinion and make an impact’ We sincerely thank our supporters and funders who have helped make SHE Leads High Programs possible this financial year. The SHE Leads High program was delivered to 107 students across 6 high schools during the 2016-17 financial year: Salisbury High, Reynella East College, Christies Beach High School, Roma Mitchell Secondary College, Findon High School and St Aloysius College. The SHE Leads High program aims to equip young women with the knowledge and tools to challenge gender inequality and stereotypes in leadership. The program is delivered through 8 face to face workshops and online support over a term, covering topics including gender equality, leadership basics, communicating with confidence, working in teams, exploring the workplace, building financial independence and being a change maker in the community. SHE Leads High participants across the programs reported increased confidence, feeling more empowered and having a safe space to explore their leadership and strengths. 13
