STRATEGIC GOAL TWO: By 2019 the YWCA has increased the number of women and girls in SA who have built the skills and attributes for leadership, empowerment and wellbeing. SHE Leads YWCA Adelaide strengthened its leadership pathway for women and girls with the introduction of the SHE Leads High Conference and SHE Leads High Program. A leadership development event for girls in years 10-12, the SHE Leads 10 High Conference – held in May - sold out within weeks of announcement. More than 150 girls from 22 schools including Wiltja, Le Fevre, Fremont, Burra, Port Pirie, Victor Harbor, Christies Beach, Findon, Parafield Gardens, Paralowie, Salisbury East and Blackwood gathered at the Stamford for a day of inspiration. The SHE Leads High Program began delivery in June working with girls in years 10-12 focussing on leadership styles, working with teams and strategies to be involved in their community. The SHE Leads Program is delivered through a combination of in-school workshops and in online groups.
