A short description of our town, Alba Iulia Municipality:
Alba Iulia (63 000 inhabitants) is the place where on December 1st 1918
the Union Act of Transylvania with Romania was signed. According to the
historical monuments list in Romania approved by the Romanian Ministry
of Culture, Alba Iulia Municipality remains one of the most important
historical monuments of Romania while Alba Carolina Citadel with all its
interior and exterior spaces, ravelines and bastions is included within
the national heritage interest monuments list, being the largest citadel in
Romania. Moreover, through the 26th Decision of the Romanian
Parliament from 30 November 1994, Alba Iulia Municipality is officially
considered to be The Citadel - Symbol of the Greatest Union of the

PAEM ALBA FOUNDATION founded in 1995 is a non-governmental
organization that is vary involves in implementing communication
projects with and for the citizens of our local community, The main
purpose of the Foundation is to identify, conceive and implement actions
for economic and social development in Alba County. IN 2013 PAEM
ALBA FOUNDATION has obtained the status of organization of public
utility from the Romanian Government thus recognizing the important
role played by the Foundation at the local and regional level.
The main aims of PAEM ALBA FOUNDATION are: to elaborate and
to promote programs focused on the youth; to offer information and
counseling services concerning the social, economic, cultural rights of the
disadvantaged people; to promote a durable development of Alba Iulia
Municipality; to fight against corruption; to fight against abuses of all
kind (social, animal care, economical, etc.); to promote, elaborate and
implement actions and programs in the social, economic and
environmental-protection fields; to elaborate and implement community
social services; to elaborate and implement programs for improving the
inter-ethnical climate and to promote the inter-cultural relations; to
identify projects and measures necessary for creating labour places; to
elaborate developing strategies of the tourist potential of the city.
