And package it in jars.
We will sell it to the suckers
Sipping early at the bars.
We will turn it into fuel
And we will use it in our cars.
We’ll be stuck at stoplights
’Cause it won’t get us very far.
What customers don’t know
Or maybe won’t believe
Is that love is a product
And an omen of greed.
I’ve written love poems
But I did not look to see
That the love songs they were selling
They were selling them to me.
