Hospital heroes!
In May, more than 200 superheroes abseiled
down St Thomas’ Hospital in grand style.
The brave bunch of patients, supporters
and staff, including England cricketer
Gareth Batty, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS
Foundation Trust Chief Executive Amanda
Pritchard and Chief Nurse Dame Eileen Sills,
abseiled 160 feet down the hospital’s North
Wing overlooking the River Thames and the
Houses of Parliament.
Together they raised over £100,000. Doreen,
who took part to say thank you for the treatment
her partner has received in the Intensive Care
Unit, said: ‘I did the abseil in style and I loved it.’
