THE WEEKENDER
I
t’s been miserable here. My course holds more water
than the local swimming pool. Temporary greens only
and only the front 9 are in play. These are all things that
we here from British golfers and clubs during our winter
months.
As much as we all want to get out on the course as often as
possible we have to understand that in order to protect our
tracks ready for when the nice weather does actually turn
up sometimes the courses have to say “sorry, we are closed
today”. We also have to understand that we live on an island
in the North Sea, the weather is rarely going to be amazing
here so all year round golf isnt an option.
With that said there is always the winter weekender, that
escape out of the country to get a few rounds under our belt
with the sun on our back.
