In 2015 the “Weekender” feature has seen us travel across the UK taking in cities including Cardiff, Brighton and Bristol. As the year has moved on and the temperatures have dropped we ventured to the slightly warmer climates of France & Belgium but stuck to our guns of finding good golf to play on that short haul weekend platform. As we put pen to paper we look out the window and see the heavy fog rolling across the fields outside our offices and the rain setting in, its mid-November and golf on the local courses is looking doubtful this week. With all this in mind we thought we’d look at a “Winter Warmer Weekender” piece for this issue, but where to go?…. Portugal. Riba Golf Course The flight time to the capital Lisbon is a shade over 2 hours, we know that once you add in transfers and travel time to the airports it’s a bit longer than that but if you catch an early morning flight you can be teeing it up before midday at one of the many magnificent courses the Lisboa region has to offer.
