Your Extraordinary LIFE 2018 Volume 11 | Page 2

Greetings, LIFE Alumni and Friends! 2018 is quickly coming to a close, and what a wonderful year it has been for Life University as we continue our pursuit to be the pre-eminent vitalistic healthcare institution in the world. Just this Fall Quarter, we welcomed our largest incoming class of students in more than five years. These students represent both our flagship Doctor of Chiropractic program, as well as our ever-growing undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In fact, with the almost 900 undergraduate students now enrolled, we have the largest number in the history of Life University’s College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, increasing our ability to lead the vital health revolution in a variety of holistic healthcare disciplines. However, in spite of our impressive growth and expansion, it is our duty to keep looking ahead, creating, innovating and dreaming of a world in which all people have the opportunity to live their best lives and be their best selves. You, as our alumni and friends, are part of that mission, working to turn thoughts and dreams into reality through your continued student referrals, work in your local communities and support for our University that continue to propel us forward and realize our highest aspirations. As a small token of our appreciation for you, LIFE alumni and friends, one goal we had this year was to create a more elegant magazine that better reflects your contributions. We hope you enjoy this first edition of the new Your Extraordinary LIFE (YEL). In it, you will find many more human interest stories that provide a glimpse into the lives of some of the students, alumni and friends who make Life University so uniquely powerful. You will also be able to review and celebrate many of the recent University events and highlights, such as our landmark agreement with Team China in April; our Winter, Spring and Summer graduating classes; and the completion of our state-of- the-art new student housing and dining facility that opened to students in September, The New Commons, aka the “building with the slide.” Because we aspire, and steadfastly plan, to expand Chiropractic to places around the globe that desperately need our help, we sometimes forget to acknowledge and express our gratitude for the great work here on campus that helps drive the growth of the College of Chiropractic and the profession. One such standout program that we proudly feature in this issue of YEL is Life University’s chapter of the Student American Black Chiropractic Association (SABCA), part of the larger national organization (ABCA). This student organization provides profound service, leadership and support for African-American students and alumni at LIFE. Even beyond that, SABCA and ABCA are bringing an ever-increasing number of a historically underserved population under chiropractic care and its empowering vitalistic philosophy. Another expression of our gratitude for LIFE alumni and friends is our annual Fall CElebration. We were happy to see so many familiar faces among more than 1,700 at this year’s event, which has become one of the largest CE events in the profession. We continue to improve and refine the experience, and the lineup of speakers and topics, so that each year is better than the last. We look forward to hosting you again in 2019. In closing, we share our hope that you will enjoy this holiday season with your families, friends and loved ones. We recognize and appreciate your tireless work in serving your communities, day in and day out. We wish you the time and space for rest, reflection and rejuvenation that this time of the year can often provide. We thank you for accepting the charge to spread our message of vitalistic healthcare to the masses, as valued members of the not-so- little university that is changing the world. Yours in Chiropractic, Chancellor Guy F. Riekeman, D.C. President Rob Scott, D.C., Ph.D.
