Your host family Volunteer hosting
Living with a host family is what makes
going on an exchange such a unique
experience and a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity. You will be welcomed into
their home and quickly become part of
the family, learning about their culture
and traditions. Except for our Premium Programmes,
all our host families are either voluntary
or receive only a small contribution for
hosting. They open their homes and
hearts because they are keen to ‘adopt’
a son or daughter from another country
and share and learn about each others’
culture.
Hand-picked host families
All of our host families go through a
thorough
application
process,
including an in-home interview and
background checks, before they are
selected. Our staff and local
representatives spend a lot of time
finding the right host family for you.
Your host family will have a genuine
interest in exchange and will be excited
to welcome you into their home and
share their everyday lives with you.

Experienced and prepared
Many of our host families have hosted
exchange students before, so they are
very familiar with our exchange
programme and able to make you feel
comfortable right away. Some of them
host a student every year and talk about
their ‘sons and daughters’ around the
world. We also ensure that our host
families are well prepared before you
arrive.
From the everyday routines to special
occasions, living with a host family will
give you a unique insight into the life in
your chosen destination and mean that
you gain another family across the world
who you will keep in touch with for years
to come.
