What is a High School Exchange? Going on a high school exchange with Your Education means that you will spend from a month up to a year overseas. You get the chance to live with a host family and attend a local high school. Your host family will share their everyday life with you, teaching you about their country and sharing their traditions with you. You will also have a local representative to guide and look after you. Many of the local representatives arrange activities and trips - a perfect way to experience new things. A guidance counsellor at your school will help you choose your subjects. An exchange is the perfect opportunity to reinvent yourself and try something new, whether it’s a new sport or a different subject in school. An exchange is a unique opportunity to learn about a new country, make new friends and perhaps become fluent in another language. Your host family will welcome you into their home and community, so you will quickly feel like part of the family! You will also make loads of friends at school, many of whom may become lifelong friends. Studying overseas is an invaluable experience that will help you become more independent and globally aware. You will acquire new skills that will benefit your future studies and career, ensuring you stand out from the crowd.
