Denisa draws on her experiences gained during her world travels and while living abroad in Zanzibar. In fact, this sea-inspired collection, aptly named The Seaweed Collection, is a direct homage to the Zanzibar women who would painstakingly harvest seaweed. Denisa uses acrylic plastics formed into organic shapes as a way of contrasting these forms and brings them all together with precious metals. Seaweed collection The seaweed collection origins Horn collection The finished product Berries collection The delicate amount of skill required to fashion these pieces is beyond extraordinary and makes each piece Denisa designs even more spectacular. With her masterful jewelry creations Denisa wants to “emphasize the beauty of this material by keeping its organic shape and patterns, setting it in precious metals, and making it available to people in the form of jewelry.” Internationally experienced and revered, Denisa feels that in addition to creating art, she should take care to use materials that don’t compromise her sense of ethics.
