Simple Green Juice Pineapples are available all year round in India. Though their outer skin is rough and thick they are quite juicy from inside. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin B1 and manganese. Amaranth or Cholai leaves are quite alkalinising and help boost energy levels. I like to add ginger and Indian gooseberry or amla whenever possible to my green juices to make them little spicy and lift the mood. INGREDIENTS 1 large pineapple, peeled and chopped 200 gms amaranth leaves, washed and chopped 2 Indian gooseberries, washed, chopped and seed removed 1” ginger, washed and chopped INSTRUCTIONS 1. Wash and prepare the ingredients. 2. Put them through your slow juicer and its done. RECIPE NOTES Simply remove the crown of the pineapple by pulling it out carefully. Take a sharp serrated knife and cut the hard outer skin gently. No need to remove the eyes of the pineapple. Now cut it into small pieces so that they can pass through the mouth of the juicer easily. Don't use amaranth sticks if they are hard. Use ginger with peel. Y O G I C H E R A L D 46
