Donovan Hill
Selectman
McComb, Mississippi
Donovan Hill is a native of McComb, Mississippi. Raised by his mother, he
graduated from McComb School District in 2009. Hill was able to attend
college with a football scholarship at Alcorn State University. While
studying education, Hill participated with Real Men Read and served
three years as site coordinator of CDF Freedom School, a fundamental
educational enhancement and national policy driven program. Hill ran
for selectman because of the neglected African American communities in McComb. Understanding
that time and dedication was needed, Hill ran for office months before graduating college.
Improving infrastructure, restoring educational values, increasing recreational parks, and
community engagement was Hill's vision for the City of McComb. A week after receiving his degree,
