Detailed Agenda SATURDAY » FEBRUARY 20, 2016 Vien Truong Green For All Vien Truong leads Green For All, a national initiative to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Truong previously led the Greenlining Institute’s Environmental Equity team in creating solutions for poverty and pollution in the state legislature, the California Public Utilities Commission, and in localities around the state. Under her leadership, her team created state programs and policies around the country to direct billions of dollars in funding and resources to the communities most vulnerable to climate change. In 2014, she coled the Charge Ahead Initiative (SB 1275, de Leon), California’s nationally recognized program to accelerate the transformation to electric vehicles and create clean transportation choices for low-income and working families. She holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Dave Weiskopf NextGen Climate David Weiskopf is an attorney for NextGen Climate America. His work focuses on U.S. climate and energy policy. He has particular expertise in state-level implementation of federal carbon pollution regulations for power plants, and in crafting legal and policy responses to the structural decline in the coal mining industry. Weiskopf is an experienced advocate for energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in heartland states, where the electricity sector is particularly reliant on the dirtiest sources of energy, such as coal. His diverse background in law, science, and philosophy helps him to engage stakeholders and complex issues from multiple perspectives and to develop innovative approaches to resolving conflicts.
