Vien Truong
Green For All
Vien Truong leads Green For All, a national initiative to build an inclusive
green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Truong
previously led the Greenlining Institute’s Environmental Equity team
in creating solutions for poverty and pollution in the state legislature,
the California Public Utilities Commission, and in localities around the
state. Under her leadership, her team created state programs and policies
around the country to direct billions of dollars in funding and resources
to the communities most vulnerable to climate change. In 2014, she coled the Charge Ahead Initiative (SB 1275, de Leon), California’s nationally
recognized program to accelerate the transformation to electric vehicles and create clean
transportation choices for low-income and working families. She holds a B.A. from the University
of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
Dave Weiskopf
NextGen Climate
David Weiskopf is an attorney for NextGen Climate America. His work
focuses on U.S. climate and energy policy. He has particular expertise in
state-level implementation of federal carbon pollution regulations for
power plants, and in crafting legal and policy responses to the structural
decline in the coal mining industry. Weiskopf is an experienced advocate
for energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in heartland states,
where the electricity sector is particularly reliant on the dirtiest sources
of energy, such as coal. His diverse background in law, science, and
philosophy helps him to engage stakeholders and complex issues from
multiple perspectives and to develop innovative approaches to resolving conflicts.
