Support to global call from Southeast Anatolia

United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women that took place from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, UniTE global campaign was supported on awareness raising meetings held in Kilis and Şanlıurfa. Meetings, that were targeted Syrian and Turkish youth, were held within the within the Strenghtening Social Stability in Southeast Anatolia Region Project. that has been implemented with the cooperation of UNDP Turkey Syria Crisis and Resilience Response Programme and GAP Regional Development Administration and supported with technical asistance of provincial directorates of Ministry of Family and Social Policies.

Throughout the two meetings held on 6-7 December 2017 in two cities, 19 young women and 9 young men frorm Syrian and Turkish population took much interest and raised various issues on different types of violence against women and girls. Participants showed much interest during the presentations of specialists of Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers from Ministry of Family and Social Policies where the issue was addressed from many and comprehensive aspects.

16
