Year One: What We've Achieved 2015 | Page 3

A FAIR AND STANDARD SYSTEM ACROSS THE STATE. In our first year, our Board took responsibility for providing the oversight infrastructure needed to ensure the integrity of Georgia’s misdemeanor probation system, including creating uniform standards that will govern all supervision practices across Georgia, whether performed by private or governmental providers. We completed the annual registration of each of Georgia’s misdemeanor probation providers, streamlined our audit processes, and established a misdemeanor probation website to centralize information for providers, offenders, and DCS. BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS. BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE. A website. Social media. Quarterly magazines and annual reports. We’re opening doors to start conversations with those we serve, and with the public that supports us. We’ve developed a three-year strategic plan to further build our communications to help make us more responsive to our communities, and to make information about our work more understandable and available to the public. In support of these efforts, our legal team created an automated workflow process to respond to open records requests and legal services requests, helping make our agency more transparent. We’ve also dedicated our agency to being a strong collaborative partner to the Criminal Justice Reform Council and our partner agencies—doing our part to help build a stronger, better criminal justice system in Georgia. working for DCS.GA.GOV
