Letter from our President Dear Members of SACC-Philadelphia, It has been my pleasure and honor to serve as President of SACC-Philadelphia for eight years. I will be stepping down from this role in 2019, but am excited to report that long- time SACC-Philadelphia board member Anders Näsman will take over the role as president of the Chamber. I am confident that Anders will do a great job in leading and developing the Chamber’s work in 2019 and beyond. During 2018, our Chamber organized several successful events, including a Cocktail Hour with the Swedish Ambassador to the U.S., Karin Olofsdotter. Our members met with the Ambassador and listened to her report about efforts the Swedish Embassy has taken to strengthen the relationship between Sweden and America. Other successful events during the year included a Social Media Seminar where expert Patrick Baynes provided tips on how to build a strong social media profile, as well as the annual Crayfish Party, co-hosted with American Swedish Historical Museum in August. We also continued to hold the monthly International Happy Hour and our annual Glögg Holiday Business Mixer at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. and the Greater Philadelphia Region, as well as important contributions toward innovation and technological advancement, corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices. SKF USA Inc., who has their North American headquarters in Lansdale, PA, was unanimously selected for this honor based on their strong commitment to sustainability and BeyondZero thinking— aiming to reduce environmental impact of both their own and their customers’ operations. SACC-Philadelphia is thankful for the hard work and contributions made by our interns from Sweden. These interns included Amanda Nelzén, David Johansson, Simone Grund and Stephanie Bien. Our internship program has continued to be a valuable experience for our interns and the Chamber. We look forward to welcoming new interns during 2019. Finally, I would like to thank our members for your continued support. Very truly yours, This year, SACC-Philadelphia also proudly selected SKF USA Inc. to receive our annual Business Entrepreneurial Award. The award seeks to recognize companies or individuals that have made a significant contribution to the exchange of trade and commerce between Scandinavia 4 David W.
