Hockey Event
Depending on which Swedish person you would ask,
many would say that hockey is the national sport
of Sweden. Philadelphia Flyers is a team with great
Swedish history with players such as Peter Forsberg
and Mikael Renberg. During an evening in October,
the Swedish and Norwegian Chambers gathered
members and friends to watch the game between
Flyers and Florida Panthers, where Flyers easily won 5-1.
SACC Summit
Every year, SACC-USA hosts a summit for all regional U.S. Chamber representatives to take part of workshops
and inspiring speakers. This year the summit was hosted by SACC-New England and took place in Boston. The
first day was opened by Mikael Damberg, Sweden’s minister for Enterprise and Innovation, who spoke about
the importance of SACC and how our organization helps strengthening the relations between Sweden and
the U.S. Speakers such as Robert Langer, Professor at MIT; Myra White, Ph.D in Psychiatry at Harvard and
Torsten Jansson Founder and CEO of New Wave group spoke about topics connected to business through
innovation.
SACC-Philadelphia was also present during the second day where the focus was on the internal work within
the SACC network. The day involved workshops concerning how the SACC network should work to attract,
activate and retain members of the regional Chambers.
