Crayfish Party
On August 21, SACC Philadelphia, in collaboration with the
American Swedish Historical Museum, welcomed members
and non-members to a Swedish kräftskiva. This, a traditional
crayfish party, is what many Swedes in Sweden do at the end
of the summer. Guests are able to enjoy a taste of the typical
flavors of the Swedish end-of-summer party with a lovely buffet
of Swedish boiled cold crayfish, Västerbotten cheese pie,
meatballs, dill potatoes, schnapps and more. The dinner was
followed by a raffle drawing and auction with prizes donated
by a variety of sponsors. It was a lovely evening spent outside
in the museum’s party tent overlooking the lush greenery of
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park.
Guests enjoying the beautiful end of the summer night in
festive hats and bibs.
