Letter from the President
Dear Members of SACC-Philadelphia,
It has been my pleasure and honor to serve as President of SACCPhiladelphia. We hope you enjoy reading our latest edition of the
Year in Review, which highlights several successful events and activities from 2014.
These include, among others, our Vodka Tasting Business Mixer,
International Business Networking Reception featuring the Governor of Delaware Jack Markell, International Business Networking
Reception featuring Allan Greenberg who is the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development of Philadelphia, Crayfish Party, Young Professional Business Mixers, Scandinavian
Hockey Night, business panel discussion on The Nordic Economic Model featuring Lars
Bjork, CEO of Qlik Tech, as well as our annual Glogg Party.
This past year our Chamber also selected IKEA of Conshohocken, PA to receive our 2014
business entrepreneurial award. This annual award was created in 2010 by SACC-Philadelphia. The award seeks to recognize companies that have made a significant contribution
to the exchange of trade and commerce between Scandinavia and the Philadelphia region,
as well as important contributions toward corporate social responsibility and sustainable
business practices. IKEA Conshohocken was recognized for its strong commitment to
sustainable business practices and emphasis on renewability and recyclability.
SACC-Philadelphia is thankful for having hard working and contributing interns from Sweden with our Chamber in 2014. These interns included Sophie Hallberg, Sandra Markovic,
Nima Ghamari and Ylva Linden. I would also like to welcome our new interns Sofie Åberg,
Charlotte Isberg and Isabella Gillström. Our internship program has continued to be a
valuable experience for our interns and the Chamber. We look forward to welcoming our
new interns in 2015.
Finally, I would like to thank our members for your continued support.
David W. Engstrom
President, SACC-Philadephia
