Glögg Party- December SACC-Philadelphia Presents Business Entrepreneurial Award At the Annual Glögg Party SACC-Philadelphia’s annual Glögg Party was held at the venerable Philadelphia Racquet Club. The official corporate sponsor of the Party was QlikTech. Additional sponsorship for the Party was provided by ScanAm. After welcoming all to the party, Erwin Apell, Chairman of SACCPhiladelphia’s Board, announced that SCA Americas, Sune Lundin and Don Lewis had received our Chamber’s Business Entrepreneurial Award. Mr. Lundin has been President of SCA Americas since 2008 and Mr. Lewis, who has been with SCA for 10 years and is a leader on the SCA Americas leadership team, will be taking on the position of President of SCA Americas in January 2012. Last year’s recipient of the Business Entrepreneurial Award, Lars Björk, President and CEO of QlikTech, participated in the award ceremony and presentation. Mr. Lewis was in attendance to accept the award. “SCA-Americas, Mr. Lundin and Mr. Lewis have made a significant contribution toward the exchange of trade and commerce between the Philadelphia Region and Sweden. They have also made important contributions toward innovation, corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices,” said David Engstrom, President of SACC-Philadelphia. “Our Chamber is honored and pleased to recognize their accomplishments and contributions with our annual business award.” Following the award presentation, the rest of the evening at the glögg party continued in a cheerful way, with snacking, glögging and mingling. Well-dressed guests were treated to glögg, prepared by Britt Apell and Kristina Hofmann, and to savory hors d’oeuvres. There was also a raffle. Live music and some Nordic Christmas songs were performed by the Mole St. Band and Norwegian singers Chris Valkyria and Lou Paglione. The Party was well attended by SACC-Philadelphia’s corporate and individual members. Among the corporate members in attendance were representatives from SCA Americas (Don Lewis, Amy Bellcourt, Kevin Gorman, Susan Michini, Anna Savinger-Aslund), QlikTech (Lars Bjork, Sally Baraka, Derly Vargas and Johan Nordbrandt), and SKF USA, Inc. (Gunilla Nilsson, Jonny Nilsson, and Magnus Arvidsson). As a sign of the success and a good time, many guests stayed at the party long after the official ending time at 9:30 PM.
