Brews and Bowties - June In the summer heat of June, SACC-Philadelphia co-sponsored an event of the Philly Beer Week that had rarely been seen before: a cocktail and bowtie dresscode party. High-end regional beer from eight of the best craft breweries were presented to the guests to sample. This successful event was held at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia and around 150 people attended. For those who did not come with a bowtie, a great variety of high quality bowties could be purchased on-site by A. Davidsen Master Tailors, who also showed how to tie it like a proper socialite. The evening entertainment was produced by Rolling Barrel Events who hosted their own house band along with dance music mixes from Lotis Media. Young Professional - June The Young Professional event took place at Mac’s Tavern in Old City. The evening had a good turnout although the aim for the future is to reach out to more young people interested in making connection to the Swedish community in the region. The national organization, SACC-YP Philadelphia strives to provide a platform for social interaction, as well as connecting them with companies and career opportunities. The YPN meetings range from very casual business mingles to more structured events featuring speakers on a broad range of topics that can be of interest to someone starting a career. YPN primarily focuses on those who have an interest in promoting business relations between Sweden and America or have ties to the Scandinavian community, but anyone who would like to join is more than welcome to do so. It is an excellent opportunity for any driven individual to build a network.
