The American movie version of Stieg Larsson’s first book
out of the Millennium trilogy, “The Girl with the Dragon
Tattoo” ,had premier right before Christmas. The strong
and complex female character Lisbeth Salander, was
played by Rooney Mara who added a new edge to the
movie. Which one of the two movies is the better one
is a popular subject of discussion for Stieg Larsson fans.
The fact remains that the movies would never have
been produced without the strong writing and quick
storytelling of Mr. Larsson.
All together the trilogy has sold over 35 million printed
copies translated to more than 40 languages. In the
United States alone the books have become a publishing phenomenon selling 6 million copies in 2010.
