l YEAR IN REVIEW 2010 l SIMEONE MUSEUM SIMONE MUSEUM September 23th One of many cars in Dr. Simeone’s collection The Simeone Museum is an amazing collection of classical cars that must be considered one of a kind and is in itself more than worth the trip. Combine this with a business mixer that brings together the classical car enthusiast with the well connected CEO and other higher ups and you have the recipe for a successful event. This networking event was of the more informal kind providing a relaxed setting for finding new business partners as well as new golf buddies whilst listening to the fascinating lecture on how one man’s passion came to build one of the greatest car collections of today. And if that doesn’t get your engine revving and makes you want to start your race to the top in order to be able to do what you’re really passionate about we don’t know what will and to paraphrase Dr. Simeone, the first race started when the second Chamber of Commerce was founded. YOUNG PROFESSIONALS EVENT TAVERN 17 November 11th This Young Professionals Network event was held at Tavern 17 by the Radisson Warwick and attracted a mixed crowd of both SACC-Philadelphia members and other guests who were interested in improving their networking expertise and meeting new people. Evan Polin, VP of the Training Resource Group, was the speaker for the night and talked about networking, why it’s important, and how to do it as efficiently as possible. Topics discussed were how to prepare for a business mixer and how to do a good 30 second introduction about yourself. Afterwards all of the attendees had an opportunity to practice their new skills.
