About SACC-Philadelphia
Interns 2008
Daniel Bik
Malin Isaksson
Daniel arrived in late January 2008 and
stayed for approximately six months
before he went back to Stockholm to find a
job and enjoy the beautiful Swedish
summer. He was very glad to have had the
opportunity
to
work
at
SACCPhiladelphia, as the chamber’s function is
important and working there was a great
experience. Just before moving to
Philadelphia, Daniel completed his studies
at the Stockholm University School of
Business. It was there he wrote his
master's
thesis
on
Internet-based
currencies. Prior to that Daniel had
finished the Entrepreneurship Program at
Södertörns University. His primary subject
during his entire university studies has
been Business Administration with a focus
on Finance. A semester in the Czech
Republic also broadened his knowledge
considerably.
Malin received her Bachelor of Business
Administration
in
Marketing
and
Management in 2006 and her Master of
Science in Business Administration with a
focus on Management in 2008 from Umeå
University. Malin came to Philadelphia in
mid- August 2008 to work at the SwedishAmerican Chamber of Commerce as a
marketing intern, and two weeks later
started her work at the American-Swedish
Historical Museum.
Daniel was brought up on Ekerö, an area
of small islands on Lake Mälaren, west of
Stockholm, which is most famous for the
residence of the Swedish Royal Family,
Drottningholm, and its ancient remains
from the Viking Age. For four years he
resided in Bromma, just outside of
downtown Stockholm. Philadelphia and its
surroundings were a pleasant surprise for
Daniel and he enjoyed the benefits from
living in such a migrant city more and
more each day that passed by.
