As expected, America's economic problems affected all the major economies in the world and thus seriously affected also the Scandinavian countries’ economies. Regardless of these dark horizons, we at SACC-Philadelphia kept on working towards our goals of increasing our membership base, providing improved and pertinent activities and services, and developed our support for our members and potential members. Over the year, we have had several successful events and activities (see separate section), we have invested in a new and greatly improved website, and we have improved our contacts with the other Scandinavian organizations within our working area of South Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania. It is very positive that we not only have the Norwegian group taking a major part in our activities, but also have established great contacts with both the Finnish and Danish Consuls over the year. It should also be mentioned that our very supportive Norwegian Consul as of 2008 now also acts as the Swedish Consul as well! Our interaction with the American-Swedish Historical Museum and our contacts with SWEA have increased mainly due to our very active and involved Chairman Erwin and his wife Ulla-Britt. During the year we have enjoyed a solid support from our corporate members; SCA, IKEA, QlikTech, BlankRome, SAS and Citizens Bank, only to mention a few. In September I had the opportunity to represent our chamber at the annual Entrepreneurial Days in Stockholm and there establish several new contacts with Swedish companies and organizations looking for potential assistance with getting connected in the US. The grand celebration of SACC-USA's twenty-year anniversary took place at the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm and I had the opportunity to meet the USAmbassador to Sweden, Mr. Wood. We briefly talked about our shared strong interest in connecting Green technologies between Scandinavia and the US, a major subject of interest for Ambassador Wood. Our chamber wishes SACC-USA a continued success and growth, while we at SACC-Philadelphia continue working on making us the leading chamber in the upper Mid-Atlantic region.
