Events 2008
Christmas Party – IKEA South Philadelphia December 12th
For the first time, SACC-Philadelphia’s annual Christmas party was held at IKEA,
who was also the main sponsor of the event. Including the guests from IKEA, the
party had more than 170 additional attendees, which comprises the biggest
Christmas Party in the history of SACC-Philadelphia! The party was very successful
and the restaurant at IKEA was decorated in a Scandinavian fashion. Also
contributing to the cozy feeling was of course the large smorgasbord with all kinds
of traditional Swedish Christmas food, the traditional Lucia procession, singing of
“snaps-songs” , an auction, and a raffle with many happy winners!
Evaluation of Past Events
The year of 2008 was an exceptional year for SACC-Philadelphia. Many events attracted
more guests than ever before and a new era was entered, where the chapter organized not
only smaller and exclusive events, but also events attracting a larger group of people.
SACC-Philadelphia also strengthened their relationships and cooperation with other
Swedish organizations during the year, a positive direction for the organization which will
continue during 2009. Due to the success in 2008, SACC-Philadelphia has been able to
make improvements that will show and benefit its members. The biggest change is
without a doubt the new website, which will be launched April 1st. With the help of the
chapter, this will keep members updated and let them be visible to each other in a whole
new way!
