ABOUT PARLAMERICAS

PARLAMERICAS’ YEAR IN HIGHLIGHTS 2014 05

"As Speaker, it is my belief that the very essence of parliamentary diplomacy is about building relationships with colleagues in other countries. These partnerships can form the basis for exploring enhanced relations between countries and peoples. They can also serve to deepen the diplomatic relations that already exist. From experience, I know that what we learn through inter-Parliamentary meetings, like those convened through ParlAmericas, is immensely valuable in helping us make better decisions in our respective parliaments. I am confident that our exchanges through ParlAmericas will continue to enrich us all."

Andrew Scheer,

Speaker of the House of Commons, Canada
