IN FOCUS: MEETING OF THE GROUP OF WOMEN PARLIAMENTARIANS: WOMEN’S HEALTHCARE
The Meeting of the Group of Women Parliamentarians takes place annually within the agenda of the Plenary Assembly and is structured as a working group. Chaired by Senator Marcela Guerra, this year’s meeting explored the gendered dimensions of health in the Americas with a focus on reproductive healthcare.

"In all of our countries, the lives of women are threatened by serious and oftentimes preventable health problems. Sadly women also face distinctive barriers to accessing high-quality and affordable healthcare. So we must always consider our healthcare systems with sensitivity to the social inequalities faced by women...But our discussions in forums like this are promising. When we put our energy into collaborative work and the sharing of information and data, I am convinced we will close the gender gap in health."
