Now let’s get a little crazy! Choose one “crazy” thing that you would want to achieve this year. Remember it’s what you would see as “crazy”. For some this will be to go Bungee Jumping, for someone else it may be to learn a new language, Here’s a hint: It’s that something that will get you an “Are you crazy!” response from your best friend. Be responsible, this isn’t meant to be a death defying exercise! My “crazy” thing for this year is ....(what).....I want to do this because.....(why)....I will achieve this by ...(how)... Effectively you have now set 3 goals for yourself for the rest of year. Feeling more focused? Good. Now for the next step: Planning. No goal is going to be achieved without writing down an effective action plan. Have a look at what you want to accomplish and break down your “how” into smaller achievable steps. Write these steps into your daily/weekly/monthly planner. Tick them off as you complete them. The most important thing you can do for yourself is to cut yourself some slack. No action plan is written in stone, so go ahead and change what needs changing. There are going to be times where you will need to re-allocate your time. You may even find yourself looking at your goals a few months down the line and decide that they are not working for you. That’s ok too. Honour yourself and be clear why the goal is not working for you. Is it really something that is part of your bigger plan for yourself, or did it just sound good at the time? Remember, when setting goals look at them from the perspective of living your best life. If the goal doesn’t feed into your bigger picture in some positive way, it is unlikely to be something that you will be able to achieve. Don’t set yourself up for failure.
