In September of 2012, Rachel planned a weekend for her
and Nathan in Steamboat. “Nathan has a Ducati, and we
took it out to go see the fall colors,” Rachel said. “I planned a
weekend in Steamboat [Colorado], but I had no clue he was
planning to propose while we were there.”
Nathan took the chance on the walk between the hotel and
dinner at Café Diva in Steamboat, a gift from Nathan’s boss,
who was in on the surprise. “He was the only one who knew
– I didn’t even know he was ring shopping!” Rachel laughed.
When it came to planning their wedding, many brides say ‘If
I knew a little about weddings it would be so helpful…’ – but
what happens when you’re a wedding floral pro, planning
your own day? “I had specific items I wanted in our centerpieces, but when it came to my bouquet, I used what we had
on hand in the shop,” Rachel said. With the beautiful mixture
of bosc pears, pinks and purples looking so natural together,
I was surprised! Rachel also had to employ her creativity at
the last minute, when the fall of 2013’s odd marathon of rain
showers flooded highways in Colorado and prevented her
