Heather ’ s first step in the wedding planning process was to call the Ivinson Mansion . She had driven past the mansion many times , often while they were setting up for a wedding . After attending a friend ’ s wedding Heather called and reserved the only remaining Saturday .
Both were ecstatic when they learned while attending the Laramie Wedding Expo that they had won an engagement session from Ludwig Photography . Heather and Joe had walked and driven by Ludwig ’ s numerous times and had fallen in love with the wedding photographs displayed in the windows of that downtown Laramie gallery and studio .
During Heather and Joe ’ s engagement session at Ludwig ’ s Anne told Heather how much she truly loved telling a couple ’ s story . “ Out of all the photographers we spoke with , no one had said that to us before . It was at that moment I realized my photographs were the most important thing to me outside of the venue . As an English teacher , I was in love with the idea of Anne telling our story . “
Dressed in an elegant designer gown , Heather wanted to also honor wedding traditions in Joe ’ s family and wore a beautiful cathedral-length veil for intimate photographs as husband and wife . Heather ’ s veil has been handed down generation to generation in Joe ’ s mother ’ s family for over one hundred years .
Heather chose teal and gold as their wedding colors incorporating sunflowers for a fun , cheerful atmosphere .
“ Pinterest was helpful in planning the look I was going for .” Joe jumped on board the DYI wedding plan , and after seeing great ( but pricey ) ideas on reception backdrops to set up behind their bridal party table , he offered to make one . Heather was delighted . It turned out just like the ones they had seen and he did it all for under $ 100 .
Known for their incredibly fresh flowers and amazing service , Laramie ’ s own The Wild Rose ( previously Fresh Flower Fantasy and under new ownership since 2013 ) skillfully designed an elegant bouquet comprised of white roses , orchids , white lilies , and baby ’ s breath .
After a romantic sparkler sendoff , the couple left the very next day for a cruise to Puerto Rico , Haiti , and Saint Martin .
Heather often thinks about their wedding and honeymoon in the wake of Hurricane Maria . “ The story Anne captured means so much to us , I love sharing our albums with everyone . Joe will be gone with the Guard six months , but these albums will keep me warm . Also , my Christmas shopping is done — my bridesmaids , parents , in-laws , and grandma are getting wedding photos from Ludwig Photography .” n
