ara and Harrison’s paths crossed on April 9, 2016,
when they both attended a fly fishing film festival.
“{Our} love of the outdoors brought {our} two wild
souls together,” Lara says. The outdoors continued to play a
theme as their relationship grew, with their first date spent
walking around a local wildlife park in their current home
of Sheridan, and Harrison asking Lara to be his girlfriend
while on a fishing trip that summer. “{Our} fondness for
God’s creation grew, as did {our} relationship,” Lara shares.
They spent a year fishing and hiking together, and on
April 18, 2017, Harrison asked Lara if she would join the
20 Wyoming Weddings
Cummings family forever. The location? The same wildlife
park where they had spent their first date. “It was simple
and genuine,” Lara says. “No one was around, and we could
see the town from above.”
Wedding planning began with a big question – where
to be married? Lara suggested an elopement, keeping things
simple and uncomplicated. “However, Harrison, being
a family man, really wanted to have a celebration where
all of our family and friends could come together as one.
Through some convincing, we decided to have a big shindig
in the place where we fell in love … Sheridan, Wyoming.”
The two set off planning their September 30, 2017
wedding, with the priorities of simplicity, fall touches,
family and friends being forefront throughout the process.
