Their unique and humor-filled beginnings were part of Pat ’ s proposal as well . The two have always enjoyed ‘ shed hunting ,’ searching for antlers shed by deer , elk , etc . On a shed hunting trip to the Snowy Range , Pat got what he called ‘ a bright idea ’ to propose then . After tromping through ‘ hard snow ’ ( the kind that is crusty on top but you sink right through ) for what felt like hours , the two made it back to their truck worn out , soaking wet and with only one shed . “ We ’ re kinda weird – we like to dance when we ’ re out in the middle of nowhere ,” Amanda said , laughing . After I said that I found that to be sweet , not weird , Amanda added , “ Well , Pat just wanted to start dancing right there at the truck . It was muddy and a mess and he wanted to dance right there . So we did – and then he dropped right there –”
