The other day I watched Serendipity , where a couple destined for each other meets through a series of circumstances and try to follow fate to each other years later . The movie was the first thing I thought of when I read the story of Randy and Sara , whose wedding was captured by Virginia Ruth Photography on August 20 , 2016 .
We begin with the summer of 2015 : Randy and Sara were ( unknowingly ) backpacking along the same route , the North Country National Scenic Trail near Pictured Rocks along Lake Superior in Michigan ’ s Upper Peninsula , each with a friend . They met at a campsite , they hit it off and exchanged information . Each was instantly attracted to the other and secretly hopeful they ’ d stay connected despite Sara ’ s pending move to Lander , Wyoming .
Through a series of texts , Skype , phone calls and visits , the two fell head over heels . On March 17 , 2016 , Randy ( who had convinced Sara he was on a hiking trip with buddies from work ), surprised her on her favorite trail while on her lunch break to propose . The two followed their hearts and dove into wedding planning .
